Your swimming pools can be considered as one of your homes’ most luxurious outdoor lounging area. How many households with their very own swimming pools can you count? Only very few, right? That is why you should be very fortunate if you have your own swimming pools. Properly maintaining them is the best thing you can do for it to go for years and years. Pool covers are important for your swimming pools.
There are basically three basic types of pool covers: the winter pool covers, the solar pool covers, and the safety pool covers. The winter pool covers generally are used during the winter season. You don’t have any plans of swimming outdoors during these seasons, right? That is why it is very necessary to have your pools covers on winter seasons.
Winter pool covers are made from polyethelyn. It is up to the homeowners which type of winter pool cover they prefer; either the one that looks like tarps, preventing almost everything from coming inside the pools, or those that has tiny woven holes that can allow water and snow in dripping towards the pool itself. Furthermore, other homeowners make us of leaf nets. This is to separate leaves from other falling debris that can also go through the swimming pools. You need not worry about pool cover leaf net cleaning though as this is just very simple to perform. Those winter pool covers that are made from solid materials can easily be kept in its place thru tubes that are water filled, then placed by the edges of the pools. For above ground swimming pools, the winter pool cover can be draped by its sides, and then fastened and secured by fasteners and other wirings. In ground winter pool covers (made from mesh) can cost between a hundred eight to seven hundred dollars, depending upon the sizes, shapes, and features of certain pools while the solid covers (in ground pool covers) can cost about eighty to two hundred dollars while the above ground pool covers are about thirty five to a hundred fifty dollars.
Solar Pool Covers are those that are used to catch the rays of the sun, thus adding heat and temperature to your pools, thru its air pockets and even bubbles. Apparently, with solar heat covers, an average of 15 degrees is added to the temperature of your pools. This is perfect to maintain the heat of your swimming pools during cold nights. They act as insulators by minimizing the level of heat that escapes from your pools during cool weathers. Most of these solar pool covers are blue in color, though there are those that go for the darker ones. These pool covers can easily be removed or placed because it makes use of electronics for easy access. It is best advised to have your solar polar covers placed on your pools during nighttime and removed by the day to have that preferred temperature. However, if your pools are not used during daytime, it is best advised to have them covered with solar pool covers. Unlike winter pool covers, solar pool covers doesn’t have to be fastened, as they remain afloat on the water. But be careful with these pool covers because they are not designed in keeping your children protected from entering to your pools. More over, the person tasked in removing a solar pool cover should also be careful as well because it is very dangerous once you get trapped under solar blankets that are partially opened. The twenty-four feet round solar pool cover can cost you about eighty dollars, while the larger 18 x 36 rectangular in ground pool covers costs about a hundred and twenty dollars.
The safety pool covers, as the name implies, are those pool covers that are designed to ensure safety. These covers are more durable than the other cover types but still has the same functions and features from the above-mentioned types.
Pool covers indeed play a major part in maintaining your swimming pools. Invest on them for you to have swimming pools that can last for up to years.
